It's no hidden secret that the oil is running out, it's also no hidden fact that burning oil increases CO2.
The UK government may find it very clever to run a series of TV commercials informing the UK consumer that out of all 'individual' things we use 'personally' our car is the biggest CO2 creator! Nice marketing, the use of simple words put the thrust of ownership of the causes of CO2 on the individual, who has no choice but to buy the fuel that is quite rapidly increasing in price.
Of course the price rise can be justified because the government is trying to save us all from evolutionary meltdown. If fuel was any cheaper would we use our cars more?
Probably not but as we stand the prices are rising so we don't have this choice.
